Sports Premium – funding for Sports

The PE and sports premium is part of a government initiative designed to help primary schools improve the quality of the PE and sports activities they offer their pupils so that they develop healthy lifestyles. Every primary school in the country has been provided with funding to support additional sports provision. The additional funding is ring fenced and therefore can only be spent on provision of PE and sport in school.
At St Andrew’s Primary School we believe PE and Sport plays an important role in making our pupils happy and healthy individuals.
We aim to develop a balanced program offering a variety of activities which provide students with an opportunity to develop high levels of fitness, a broad spectrum of skills and the knowledge necessary to use the skills develop a lifetime of active participation.
As such we feel that we are spending our current sports premium funding appropriately in order to enable as many children as possible to access high quality PE lessons, participate in clubs and activities and to have the opportunity to engage in competitive matches and festivals with other local schools.
